Victor Valley College Solar Power Plant Celebration

1 MegaWatt (MW) Concentrating PhotoVoltaic (CPV) plant built by SolFocus is the largest CPV installation in the Americas.

Harry Reid turns on Amonix Concentrated Photovoltaic Solar Plant

308 kW (kiloWatt) DC CPV (Concentrator Photovoltaic) Plant appears to have an installed cost of just over $6 per Watt.

Amonix expects to choose a Nevada manufacturing site in the next few weeks with plans to be in operation by yearend 2010.

On Saturday in Henderson, Nevada USA, “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid “Flips the Switch” on Amonix Concentrated Photovoltaic Solar Plant at Southern Nevada Water Treatment Facility” was supposed to mark the ceremonial start of electricity production.

VVC installing SolFocus CPV Solar Plant

Victor Valley College (VVC) invests $4.66 Million in a Solar Generating Facility.

The 1 MegaWatt (MW) Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) system has an installed cost of $4.66 per AC Watt and will deliver electricity at 8.5 cents per kiloWatt-hour before incentives.

VVC builds innovative solar energy facility” by Natasha Lindstrom for the Victorville Daily Press broke the story before the SolFocus, Inc. press release, “Victor Valley College Goes Solar with SolFocus Power Plant”, took it mainstream.

Mesa Energy picks SolFocus for 92 kiloWatt CPV Installation

Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) Showcase project using SolFocus has an installed cost of $6.04 per Watt (W).
